The Green Financing Facility begins providing wholesale capital to rurally oriented SACCOs and microfinance banks.
The Green Financing Facility (GFF) is established as a permanent investment mechanism with start-up capital of KES 2.1 billion. It provides wholesale capital to rurally oriented SACCOs and MFBs/MFIs for on-lending to the smallholder sub-sector and rural micro-enterprises.
The facility targets 50 per cent women and 30 per cent youth participation, and is expected to reach about 30,000 rural households through micro and small-scale loans.
